Garlands aren’t just for Christmas! Green, fresh, fashionable garlands hold up well indoors and out. Not only in my opinion do they give you a lot of bang fo your buck, they also are quick and easy to use. Decorate tables for birthdays, engagements, dinner parties, and spring holidays. My favorite go to place for garlands is Costco on-line. Check out their ” Fresh Wedding Garland”.

If you would like to use a bouquet from your local florist or greens from your garden to fashion an informal garland, that gives you the look as well. I have done both. When choosing greens, keep in mind that some greens are toxic and avoid those.

You will need a pair of sharp garden shears to cut the lengths you need. Add lanterns, candles, fresh flowers, and seasonal items like pumpkins or bunnies. Pop in some splashes of coordinating color with pillows and a throw.

If you are decorating for a holiday it might be the perfect time to organize the remainder of your decorations.

 Now it’s time to organize!

  1. Once you are done decorating, there is much less to go through.
  2. Look at what you didn’t use.
  3. Consider each piece. Why didn’t you use it? Does it need repair? Do you still love it? Would you use it again?
  4. Donate now. After the holiday, the donation place may not take these seasonal piece(s).
  5. Repack the keepers. Purchase new containers and wrap them if needed. Remember to have containers large enough so you can add things you are currently decorating with after the holidays.
  6. Either use see-through containers or be sure to clearly label for easy identification in the future.
